Selling My Home

Selling a home in a soft housing market isn't easy. Well, I'm assuming it isn't easy. This is the first time I've sold a house. I plan to put my house on the market in January 2009, so I have some time.

I don't have a lot of money to do anything really fancy to my house to get it to sell. The one thing I have going for me is time. My friend, Jill, has volunteered to help me stage my home. She lives in Crestline, CA and I am in Massachusetts. So, I take pictures, send them to her, then she tells me that my entire house needs serious help.

The first step in my home selling adventure is to stage my home. That is, make it appealing to other people so that they might imagine themselves in my home. Here is how I am staging my home.
