Mailman Comments on Bizarre HolidaysWhy are you putting the mailman's comments at the bottom of your Bizarre Holiday pages? That's a good question! Have you ever filled out a "Carrier Pick-Up Request Form" on USPS.com? Near the bottom of the form is a comment box for "Special Instructions". I started out putting things like "Thanks! :-) Have a nice day! :-)" I mean, these guys have a hard enough job as it is and someone needs to be nice to them, right? Ok, I admit it, my mailman bears a striking resemblance to Tom Cruise so it's not very hard to be nice! I digress... So, then I thought it would be fun to switch it up a bit, you know - keep it fresh (but not too fresh!) So, I wrote "Have a great day!", "Have an excellent day!", "Have a fabulous day!", "Have a Fan-Tab-U-Lous Day!", etc. Ok, so I went through as many variations of that I could think of. I got to thinking about other things I could write. A thought occurred to me - I bet there was a bizarre holiday I could put on the form. So, I googled "Bizarre Holidays". Bingo! I hit the motherload! Now, I'm set for a couple of years, at least! So, the mailman sometimes makes comments about the bizarre holiday I add to the form. He tells me I'm the only one that writes anything in that space. That's because I'm special, you know. How can I get a mailman that looks like Tom Cruise? I really don't know. I'm thinking it's just the luck of the draw. Maybe you can call your local post office and special request one... I don't think Tom Cruise is particularly good looking. Could I get a mailman that looks like Brad Pitt or George Clooney? Oh! Some good choices! However, again I think it's just the luck of the draw - see above. © Copyright 1997-2010 Jeanne Ukwendu, JeanneUkwendu.com; All JeanneUkwendu.com texts and images, and the selection and arrangement thereof, are protected by copyright ALL RIGHTS RESERVED Copyright © Copyright 1997-2010 Jeanne Ukwendu, JeanneUkwendu.com.
