Crochet Notes & Ramblings

Fun Autumn Scarf - Currently on Sale Here are my ramblings about crochet. This all started way back when in college when I took an art course with Sister Bianca - that was her name wasn’t it? So anyway, the class was about all sorts of needlework - embroidery, knitting, crochet, needlepoint, applique - you get the idea. When it came to knitting & crochet we had a choice. I chose crochet figuring one hook was easier than two needles I did the required sampler for the class and figured I was done.

Apparently not. I picked up crochet thirteen years later because I wanted to crochet a few soap savers - renamed Soap Socks - for my little soap biz. I got hooked! Pun intended. I crocheted a ton of soap socks and then wash cloths. I realized I had way more than I’d probably sell for a LONG time. So, I crocheted a couple of scarves, some little bags, a few larger bags, and then started a blanket/throw.

Donated BlanketCrochet is the sort of craft you can easily carry around with you - if you don’t have to carry around an entire blanket! You can also watch TV and crochet at the same time. So I got to thinking. We had plenty of crocheted items around my home and there were people out in the world who didn’t have as much as my family. Perhaps those people would like a nice handmade blanket. So, I hatched an idea, if people would give me their yarn they had hanging around, I could use that to make blankets to donate to people who could really use them. When you look through my Crochet for Charity pages, you’ll see what I mean.

I usually have a few things for sale under the catagory Crochet For Sale.
